Supernatural, or supernaturally in denial?

If arts are a reflection of humanity’s collective soul, then there is something to be said of our obsession with crime shows and shows pitching humans against the forces of evil. It’s almost as if we refuse to accept that there is no such thing as evil, that we are responsible for everything that we do, and there is no one but ourselves to blame for what is happening.

In Supernatural’s Season 1 finale (episode 22), Bobby Singer tells the Winchester brothers that there are more and more demon possessions happening in the last couple of months, more than anything he has seen before. He tells them that because of this, “more and more demons are walking among us”.

The same can be said about what is going on around us. After all, there are more and more people being possessed by the ‘demon’ of greed than ever before, and because of that, there are more and more greedy people walking amongst us.

So what are we going to do? Does anyone know of a special Colt we could use against greed? Or, perhaps, an exorcism of sorts?
