In January 2010, I embarked on an exciting endeavour which I named, quite simply, The X-Files Facebook Project. I posted an introductory post, then the Facebook conversation for the Pilot, episodes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of The X-Files. Then, well, it stopped.
It’s a project that I have been meaning to come back to and complete, but the timing never seemed right. I gave it a go when Season 10 of The X-Files was released in comic format, but it didn’t pan out—until now. Rumours of a potential X-Files revival are swirling (thank you Den of Geek for putting all of the rumors together in this comprehensive post), and I, a long time, die-hard fan, will contribute to the hype by reviving my own X-Files related project.
This project is exactly what it seems to be: for each episode of The X-Files, I will be creating a Facebook conversation between Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. That simple. Not only does it give me an excuse to re-watch the entire series (as if I needed one), it also is an opportunity to revisit some of the show’s best one-liners such as “I did not lie. I willfully participated in a campaign of misinformation”, which just might have already been used.
The conversations will be uploaded each Friday starting… Well, later today! And those of us who remember staying up way past their bedtime to get scared out of their minds at way too young an age on Friday nights when The X-Files originally aired know exactly why I chose this day to upload the conversations.
Here is hoping to a revival… I really want to know if humanity made it past the alien invasion scheduled for December 2012!
