Ah, hockey. One cannot have lived in Montreal and not become a Montreal Canadiens fan. The NHL team with the most Stanley Cups, with some of the greatest hockey stars, celebrating it’s 100 anniversary this year. Up until last year, Montreal has been pretty tame and well-behaved when it comes to going nuts about it’s hockey.
And then there was the 2007-2008 hockey season. Need I remind anyone of what happened? Nope, didn’t think so.
Barely a couple of months later (already?), and here we go again. The regular season hasn’t even started yet and insanity has struck. Plans are being made for the first three months’ worth of games and the number of logo-toting fans is increasing. A hint of the psychosis that is hockey fever has started appearing again and why? Because the tickets went on sale this week.
And it was mayhem. MAYHEM I tell you, both at the Bell Center and online. But it’s infectious, and it’s fun, and it does give Montreal a Habsilicious flavour.
Let the games begin!
