Seriously, how could AdBuster even THINK of suggesting this? Although I have to admit, I *am* a little curious about it…
Adbusters challenges you to do the unthinkable: unplug. Say good-bye to Twitter and Facebook. Turn off your TV, iPhone and Xbox. For seven days, reconnect with the natural world and the people around you. You’ll be amazed at how the magic creeps back into your life. Don’t be afraid and don’t find excuses, just take the plunge and see what happens.

Are YOU going to do the unthinkable?

I would highly advise taking up the Detox challenge. I did the Mental Detox week last April, and while it sounded unthinkable at first, it turned out to be a fantastic experience. I know, I know, a week without the internet seems like an impossible task to anyone under 30, but yet somehow 200,000 generations of humans did just fine without it. I had plenty of engaging dinners and conversations, reconnected with people outside of Facebook, and kept a journal of the entire experience. Just spending quiet time considering how much technology is ingrained in our lives and how much of a crutch it is to us is well worth the seven days of technological silence.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! As you can see, I am on the computer on Monday 😉 However I am planning on taking at least a day off electronics every month from now on, and perhaps up it to twice a month by the end of the summer.
I wish I could write this well! great blog thanks.
Thank you very much Bob! I hope to see you on Sahar’s Blog again!
